These vehicles were an early recipient of the then new BR Blue livery, M31176M would have been used initially with Blue & Grey coaches on passenger trains from 1965 onwards.
However these vehicles were soon replaced by BR MK1 (BG) by the late 1960’s and relocated to Parcels duties , many survived late into Era 7.
